Tom Jones martial arts experiences started at home at the tender age of 3. At 5, Tom began organized martial arts training.
As a young boy growing up, Tom competed regularly in martial arts tournaments and competitions as he worked his way up the belt ranks. By the age of 15, Tom had many grand championships under his belt and was a national karate champion.
Tom joined the Marine Corps when he was 20 years old. He was a USMC Honor Graduate in both basic training and advanced training schools – the top graduate in classes of 3000 and 12000 respectively. Soon after, Tom began competing internationally in Muay Thai kickboxing.
After discharge from the Marines, Tom began working for film action star and world renowned martial artist Chuck Norris. Tom worked for Norris for several years before becoming a professional prizefighter career. During a 20-year career of more than 75 sanctioned Muay Thai bouts, Tom achieved many state titles, four US national titles and two world championships.
In 2003, Tom’s unique combination of ultra-endurance and explosive power performance was showcased in a unique event to benefit a local children’s care facility. Tom ran a full marathon in the morning, and then on the same day fought and won a sanctioned Muay Thai bout against a top contender.
Tom is a performance trainer for some of the top competitors in MMA today. Working with other performance training experts, Tom has applied his martial arts expertise to the development of a patent pending combat sports training system and related products that will be introduced in 2011.
